What is percussive guitar?
Fingerstyle guitar, also known as fingerpicking, is a style of guitar where you use your fingers to play a melody instead of a plectrum (pick). This style has become increasingly popular as it allows for more dexterity, variety, and offers the chance to play multiple strings at once, tapping and even to drum the wood of the guitar simultaneously.
What are the benefits of fingerstyle guitar?
The benefits of fingerstyle, compared to using a pick, include being able to play multiple notes simultaneously, to tap on the neck of the guitar for 'out of reach' notes, and even to drum the body of the guitar for simultaneous percussion, providing a 'fuller' band sound.
What will I learn on the TM Fingerstyle online guitar course?
The course is a specialist fingerstyle course designed to teach you the essentials: fingerstyle techniques, tapping (including 2-hand tapping and speed tapping), percussion techniques to drum at the same time as playing, rasgueado (flamenco) and much more.
